This is not your typical fish fry, this is a Mexican-style with Mexican Beers and Margaritas to boot. Menu items and costs are below.

The entertainment was some young ladies doing traditional Mexican dance. They were so cute and their dresses were very colorful.

We showed up around 5:30 which is somewhat of a gamble (their hours are 4:30-8). The line could be really long or they could run out of certain items. There wasn’t much in the way of street parking and their parking lot was also packed. Luckily there wasn’t a line out the door. Speaking of the door, it wasn’t clearly marked where we were supposed to go. We ended up walking halfway around the church to have to double back. If you do decide to go to this one, there is an entrance off the parking lot.
The line for ordering wasn’t long though looking at the tables, there were a bunch of people waiting for their food. They give you a number upon check out and runners bring you your food when it is ready. The menu consisted of the following:

There is an option to skip the wait in line by ordering online. There are only a limited amount of orders available though the cost is $22/meal. That is a $7 inflation rate though with that said, they are volunteers who are delivering so I totally get it. We preferred the experience of waiting in line, waiting for our food while eating communal style.
Our meals and our food experience (sorry, I forgot to take pictures)
JD got the entree meal with cod, chile relleno, fries, and cole slaw. My first option was the bean tostado, shrimp, mac & cheese, and cole slaw. I didn’t want rice or beans for a side because we are having those as sides all next week and I didn’t want fries because JD was getting them and I’m not the biggest fry fan. Well, they were out of mac & cheese an hour into their 3.5-hour dinner so I opted for the A La Cart option of bean tostado and cole slaw.
After about a 10-minute wait, our food arrived. The runners were very friendly and came by often to clean up trash. The cod filet looked like a square fish filet you would buy from the store’s freezer section. This came with a piece of white bread. Not bad though not what was expected. The chile relleno was really good with great flavor though a bit greasy from all the cheese. The fries were crinkle cut, luke warm, and tasteless. The slaw was mayo-based and sweet which neither of us had experienced before. The general consensus was it wasn’t for us. My bean tostada was a very thin fried tortilla with refried beans, shredded lettuce, sliced onion, tomato, and sour cream. Both meals came with salsa- red and green- which JD took the leftovers home with us for a snack so needless to say he’s a fan of the salsa.
Since this is our first fish fry of the season, I don’t want to put an opinion on whether would I recommend it or not. Stay Tuned!
