We woke up around 8:30 to another rainy day. Thankfully my feet weren’t damp though my base layers were from sweating and the rain. Knowing this was going to be my every day, I dressed and headed to the kitchen for coffee. Breakfast was steal cut oats with dried berries. It was pretty good and filling. A good base for backpacking.
With the weather being so crumby, the guides decided that we would not pack up and move. Instead we would do day hikes around our area to explore. We had our packs on us though they weren’t packed with any gear. Instead, it had snacks, water and any additional layers we might have needed.
We did some scrambling on the rocky part of the mountain which was a lot of fun though also a little nerve racking because my balance sucks. The first hike was a mile round trip though it was straight up.

When we got to a resting place, there was the decision to go up more or go back down. Of course the boys wanted to go up however, the girls were at a consensus that we would go up but the preference would be to go down. We ended up going down since it was training and the rocks were getting slippery. I thought going down was much easier than going up.
Once we got back to the base of the mountain, we hiked the opposite side of the mountain from where we were previously. This time we actually followed a trail to an overlook point. This hike was also about a mile round trip.

We made it back to camp around 4pm where we had hot drinks which was much needed as we were all cold and soaked to the bone. Dinner this night was a cheesy penne pasta with peas and bacon. This was probably my favorite dinner we had and there weren’t any leftovers for Aidan. Though he did end up eating 5 dessert bars so he made up for the lack of left overs. We were all pretty exhausted after the hike that we all went to our tents around 8:30. This was yet another sleepless night.
Tomorrow we move camp.
