Since we bought the farm, we found out that our place is referred to as the “Lowes House” because, well, it is obvious. We went back and forth on how we were going to finish the house and well house (sore topic to be discussed in another post), do we do laminate siding or do we do metal siding. 🤔

Salem actually has a lot to offer as far as businesses go. We have a place just down the road that manufactures custom-sized metal siding and roofing. Since it would be supporting local and metal siding was about the same if not a bit cheaper, we decided to go with that versus laminante siding. We had plans of doing it ourselves though when JD started looking into cutting to accommodate all of the different angles, we decided to hire someone. Also keep in mind, the “house” is a converted garage so it isn’t an easy building to work with in the sense of straight, even, or flush areas to work.

We found a business that was local to the area so we reached out to Superior Exteriors for their expertise. They came out in June and took a look at what we were working with, gave us a quote for the house and RV port (I’ll mention this in the next post). Due to high demand, they couldn’t get to use for about 6 weeks. Something that I want to mention, this crew only works on one project at a time so we knew patience was going to be key. I let JD manage this project. It did take a bit longer than anticipated, though it turned out great and we are happy customers.

It did take a bit longer than anticipated though as they say, good things come to those who are patient. Now this week (9/29/25-10/3/25) JD will be working on the shitty well house. TBD on those pictures. For now we are stoked!
