This year JD and I decided to be more active in our evenings since we currently just sit on our asses and watch tv. We love food, some of the places on our list are within walking distance (exercise yay!), gives us something to do, and helps support the community even though we are not religious at all.

Keep in mind that there are a bunch around the St Louis areas so much so that we could never visit all in one passing of Lent so we chose locations close to home. We aren’t doing it every Friday for a couple of reasons. The first is our health. We don’t eat that much-fried food so to do it once a week for 6ish weeks doesn’t sound waistline friendly. The second is we just have other things going on that we won’t be able to go.

Here is the list of the places that we plan on hitting during this year’s Lent season with the dates/times that they are operating this year:

February 16th – St. Cecilia Catholic Church
– Feb 16 – Mar 22, 4:30-8pm

March 1st – Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church
– Feb 16 – Mar 22, 5-7:30pm

March 15th – St Stephen Protomartyr Parish
– Feb 14 (ash Wednesday), Feb 16 – Mar 22, 4-7pm

March 22nd – St Luke’s Ev Lutheran Church
– Feb 23 – Mar 22, 3:30-5:30pm

We are only missing 2 days of the Lent Fish Fries (Feb 23rd & Mar 8th) for the reasons mentioned above. We will be doing a recap of our experience about the overall vibe and food goodness though with that said, this is only 2 people’s opinion and as we all know, opinions are like assholes, everyone has one. Take it or leave it. With that said, let the feasting being!
