Waking up after only 3-4 hours of sleep to a grey sky, I was tired but not horrible. I wasn’t scheduled to pick up Brandi until 4:35pm so I had many hours to kill before then and since I had the car, I wanted to figure out something to sight seeing.

I ate breakfast at the airbnb since I had boughten eggs for that reason and also bought lunch meat for sandwiches to help with cost of eating out. I ventured out to see what Anchorage had to offer but I also didn’t want to do too much since I wanted to experience all with Brandi.

My first stop was at the Alaska Sausage and Seafood to get some reindeer sausage for JD. I then went to a little farmer’s market that was at the base of a mountain but the clouds/fog was so thick that I couldn’t see the mountains or anything for that matter. The farmer’s market was pretty small and I didn’t have a lot of room in my luggage to buy anything so I ventured on.

I also got him a log of sausage as well

After driving for a bit, I decided to head back to the airbnb, well to be honest, I had to poop and I was close enough to our place that I just headed back. Not wanting to experience too much without Brandi, I decided to try and take a nap and relax until I had to go get her. I ended up watching Simon Biles Rising documentary while chilling on the sofa unable to actually nap.

When I saw that Brandi had landed, I drove to the airport (our place was 6 miles from the airport) to get her. Unlike the STL airport, you could pull up and park to wait versus having to circle around which was awesome and very convenient. She jumped into the car and we took off. Jd only rented the car until Sunday so Brandi wanted to make the most of it.

After exploring a bit, we decided to get dinner at Glacier Brewery as it was a recommended spot. We got a flight of beer to share, she got crab stuffed halibut and I got salmon with shrimp and scallop skewers. It was super expensive but worth every bit of it.

After dinner, we headed back to our place to settle in. We made the decision over dinner to keep the car an extra day so that we didn’t rush seeing what we wanted to see and boy am I glad we made that decision. We stayed up until around 1am before heading to bed.
