Since we had leftover breakfast sandwiches from yesterday, we ate breakfast at home before we had to be at the ferry at 10:30. We decided for this trip that we wouldn’t cook and just eat out and leftovers. Once ready, we headed out to the waterfront to catch the Fort Sumter Ferry. It was about a 25-30 minute ride and the park rangers on board gave us a bit of a history lesson as well as in the fort itself.

Fort Sumter was such a cool historical experience. I’ve seen forts before; however, this one was attached to the Civil War, which was also attached to slave history. Children and slaves had made the bricks and you can actually see the finger prints imbeded in the brick.

After we got back, we stopped at a dive burger place called Big Gun Burger Shop, which had a fucking amazing burger. JD got the classic, and I got the Jive Turkey; both of us got fries. I will say, I can take or leave fries, but these were good. They were thinner cut and more crispy, which I like both. Again, didn’t think to take a picture, though highly recommend it!

After our late lunch, we headed back to our place to hunker down for the afternoon. Since we had so many leftovers, we ate dinner in as we did for breakfast.

Tomorrow we are going to the Magnolia Plantation, which we need to be there by 9:30 to catch our ride. So good night; until tomorrow!
