I noticed that I hadn’t posted anything about our animals since we first got Penny 5 years ago! A lot has happened in that time. We started her in agility training which came to a screeching halt during COVID. Since it had taken forever for them to open back up, we never went back. Sadly, Jasper passed two weeks after his 14th birthday. It was sudden and unexpected and let’s be honest, totally fucking brutal emotionally. We loved that dog to the moon and back. He was the very best and is sorely missed by all.

Our birthday boy!
The final good bye to our faithful and loving friend

Before Jasper’s passing, we did acquire yet a 4th dog by chance. Her name is Khaleesi (ka-lee-see). A good friend of mine was biking and this little tiny puppy came running up to her. Long story short, she couldn’t keep her, and the previous owner (that we found out) was an outdoor irresponsible breeder so it was not suggested she be returned. That is how we ended up with her. She is sweet, happy, horribly misbehaved, and a lot of fun. She doesn’t realize she is 9 pounds, as most little dogs do, and thinks she rules the roost.

Don’t be misled, they look like they all like each other when in reality they are frienemies

Otis is, well Otis. He is now 10 and grouchy to no end. He can’t keep his tongue in his mouth any longer though it is super cute. We had to buy him stairs to get on the sofa since his little legs are now arthritic and jumping is hard for him. His MO these days is sleeping.

I never mention the cats or chickens but they are doing well. All in all, life is good with our fur family!
