Wait WHAT? HOUSE? MARRIED?
I know what you are thinking but hear me out and keep reading. First, I will answer a couple of questions I’m sure you are wanting to know.
No, we are not moving into this place. This will be a rental to start out and possibly an airbnb later on. We have been working on it to get it ready so be on the lookout for those posts.
No, we are not moving in together now that we are married. We like, no, we love our living situation and don’t plan on changing it soon.

For those who don’t know, let me give you a little background on the compound. I bought my house in 2017- Katie Moore, JD Moore (my husband) bought the house directly next door in 2018, David and Brandi Moore (no relation) share a fenceline with JD so essentially JD’s house is sandwiched between. Our mail man was so confused and our mail was all over the three houses.
Our neighbors directly across the street from JD’s house decided to sell after having it in the family for 96 years. They were an older couple and just wanted to downsize. They were very much attached to it and were very emtional about getting rid of it. When we showed interest, they made us an offer we coudn’t refuse. So on October 29th, 2021, we closed on the new house.
The house was built in 1901 and was one of the first houses on the block. We were lucky enough to have pictures of this thanks to the previous owners. We also have some of the original deeds and mortage payments from the beginning. So crazy how things have changed!

1901 View
This is the view as of November 2021. I personally like the original front porch better.

Oh so back to the mail man. When he noticed we now have another house directly across from us with the last name Moore, he laughed and said “really?”. We might need to get him and christmas gift for all the confusion.
